Camping at the West Fork

The WFSC owns and operates 19 Acres with 20 dispersed camping spots with 3,500 feet of stream front property on the West Fork of the Kickapoo River. We have a clubhouse with a full kitchen, stove, fridges, round and rectangle tables and chairs.  We also have modern bathrooms, hot showers, electricity, and multiple shelters on site. Camping sites are a mix of electric and non-electric sites that can be reserved and first come, first served sites – there are always available sites as we are never at full capacity. Reservations are made online with immediate payment.

 To reserve your spot:  https://www.campspot.com/book/westforksportsclub

  • CAMPING INFO:
    • Only members may camp without reservations or use the property. Daily temporary memberships are provided when reserving a campsite through Campspot or Hipcamp. People attending events open to the public are not required to have a membership.
    • If paying by Venmo or PayPal please add 5% to your fee.
    • $20/night- non-electric camping fees
    • $30/night- electric hookup camping fees, each camping site has 2 elect in box, 30Amp and 20 Amp, Each outlet is $30 per night
    • Families with underage children (<18 yrs) may purchase one membership (though 2 really helps the club)
    • North RV Elect sites have a 30″ Maximum size limit w/ no DUAL A/C systems.
    • South RV sites have no electric sites and length is limited only by your ability to navigate the campground area. We recommend pulling through vs backing up. Max length on the south end is 34″ due to the driveway angle.
    • Middle RV sites have a 28′ maximum.  Nothing over 28′ should  park between entry drive and the clubhouse.

Campground Etiquette & Rules

  1. At least one person in the party must be a member unless your site is reserved through Campspot or Hipcamp. Those reservations include a daily temporary membership pass. Please consider becoming an annual member for $30 and supporting the club!
  2. Please be courteous of your fellow campers, quiet time is 11:00pm.
  3. Make sure to set up your tent in a safe area. It is recommended to NOT set up tents under trees due to lightning and wind concerns. We maintain the safety of our campground, but weather is unpredictable.
  4. Outside firewood is NOT allowed. State law prohibits the transfer or firewood more than 25 miles from the location of the harvest. We have plenty of firewood for sale at the campground and it’s a much better deal than the gas station.
  5. Dogs are allowed, please keep them under control and pick up after them.
  6. Please do not drive through muddy areas. This can damage our lawn and make mowing difficult
  7. When setting up your campsite, please walk to where you plan on parking to make sure the ground isn’t muddy/soft. Some areas are deceiving if we received a lot of rain within the last 24 hours
  8. Please take recycling home or to recycling center off of Y on LF , 2 miles from the campground.  Trash can be put in the dumpster but try to limit your waste.
  9. The south end of the campground is all first come first serve (dispersed camping) with the exception of special events.  A fire ring designates a campsite. Not all sites are numbered/labeled as we tend to shift them around. Sites 1-3 on the north end are also considered dispersed camping. Sites 4-6 are reservable electric sites and are not considered dispersed camping.
  10. Please return the Wheelbarrows to the woodshed for others use and Please return unused wood to the woodshed upon leaving! It helps the mowers a great deal
  11. Camping fees (excluding Campspot or Hipcamp), memberships, and firewood purchases are to be deposited in the iron ranger (tall green metal pay box in front of the clubhouse) OR paid by Paypal or Venmo (add 3%) at westforksportsclub@gmail.com OR mailed ahead of time to WFSC P.O. Box 52, Viroqua WI 54665
  12. If your car/ truck or camper sinks due to rain or sitting in one place for many days and you need to be pulled out there is a $100+ fee to get the local farmer to come with a tractor and pull you out.  You will be responsible for repair costs to the ground. (dirt, seeding, grading, etc.)
  13. We greatly appreciate volunteers lending their skills to the betterment of the campground. Look for workdays on the announcements page for dates, items needed, projects or to join one of many committees we have working to keep the campground in good order. Email us if you will be out there and can help in any area of keeping the campground running.
  14. We strive to keep costs affordable and appreciate donations to keep this little paradise unique and sustainable.  We are a 501c3 due to our conservation education and work. Donations are tax deductible.  Many employers, insurance and financial institutions such as Charles Schwab match donations.  Thrivent members have $500 per year through their Thrivent Choice program.  Find Westfork Sports Club log in to direct Thrivent to match with choice dollars.  Email us at Westforksportsclub@gmail.com for more info to assist with donations if needed.
  15. The West Fork Sports Club is not responsible for any lost or stolen items
  16. Please consider becoming a member for $30 a year!
  17. Enjoy your stay!!
